Real health is so much more than looking like we have it all together. It’s so much more than being the right weight, earning lots of money, or becoming gluten free, caffeine free, dairy free or carb free. It’s more than looking like we don’t need anyone’s help, that our emotions are always positive, that we have a new designer hand bag and gorgeous Facebook photos from last week end. Health is something that works from the inside out.To me, healthy looks like the freedom to have a voice, treating ourselves and others with respect, feeling good in our own skin, being physically able to thrive in our careers and passions, having the energy to play and engage with our kids, the emotional capacity to give someone our full attention, the grace to forgive ourselves when we make a mistake, the vulnerability to love wholeheartedly and the courage to pursue our dreams. Regardless of today’s trends or narratives of success, it’s feeling secure that we are enough. It’s being whole on the inside without the need to prove it to the outside. And to value our health is to value ourselves, and it has an extensive impact on every other area of our lives. I would argue that quality of health is directly correlated with quality of life.Hence the Blog.My motive is to inspire whoever might just so happen to be reading, to become a real type of healthy. To love themselves, their lives and the people in their lives. There are so many pressures in our world and culture that pull us away from making choices that are particularly health-conducive. Short of eliminating all those external factors, it is important to make a space to give our health its due attention. It only takes a little intentionality to move towards wholeness on a consistent basis. This blog is here to help with that!It will provide simple and practical steps and insights in this area. With each of these steps, I will invite you to also think of it as valuing yourself. You are worth each of these acts of kindness and care.
